Urs Sonderegger

Urs Sonderegger (born April 28, 1964 in Glarus ) is a Swiss automobile racing driver and entrepreneur.

Career

Sonderegger began his motorsport career in 2007 in the SEAT Leon Supercopa . From 2007 to 2009 he took part in some races of the Spanish and German championships. In 2008 he also made his debut in the SEAT Leon Eurocup , in which he competed in two races. In 2009, Sonderegger stayed in the SEAT Leon Eurocup. He only did not take part in one race weekend and finished the season in 28th place in the drivers' standings. In 2010 Sonderegger took part in half of the SEAT Leon Eurocup season and again finished 28th overall. The racing driver had not scored a championship point in any of the racing series.

In 2011 , Sonderegger competed for Wiechers-Sport in a BMW 320 TC in the World Touring Car Championship (WTCC) at the age of 46 . Originally, it was supposed to take part in seven race weekends. However, he decided after the fourth event to end his engagement. Sonderegger always drove in the back of the field and two 15th places were his best results. In 2012 Sonderegger drove in the European Touring Car Cup (ETCC). He was one of three permanent starters in the Single Makes Trophy at PCR Sport . In this he reached third place.

Personal

Sonderegger completed a degree in architecture and construction management. He heads a Swiss architecture and real estate company.
