Urs Suter (born March 4, 1959 in Zurich ) is a former Swiss football player . He played in the goalkeeping position .

Football career

Urs Suter played children's and junior football at FC Langnau a / A. In 1976 he moved to the Grasshopper Club Zurich , where he played with the Inter-A-Juniors and later in the 2nd team until 1980.

After an attractive year 1981/82 with FC Blue Stars Zurich in the first division , Suter moved to the national league A promoted FC Wettingen and played 29 times in the 1982/83 season when the team finished 10th.

In 1983 Suter was hired by FC Basel . He won the watch cup with FC Basel in 1983 and 1986 . He played in Basel for five years. At the end of this period, FCB was not doing very well in sporting terms and when the team was relegated in 1988 , Suter moved to FC Zurich . He played there for four years. During the 1989/90 season he was promoted to the National League A with FC Zurich.

In the 1992/93 season Suter played again at FC Wettingen , but at the end of the season the club was dissolved for financial reasons. So Suter switched to FC Tuggen and the team succeeded in advancing to the Challenge League (then National League B) as the first in the group. However, the team finished last in National League B a year later and was relegated again to become 1st division group winners again a year later. She qualified for the promotion game but lost against FC Thun with 0-2. Suter played in Tuggen for five years. He finished his footballing career in the 3rd division at FC Wollishofen.

Urs Suter is married to Jacqueline. They have two daughters. Suter lives in Zurich and works in the field in the lighting industry.
