Ursula Foitzik

Ursula Foitzik (born July 31, 1945 ) is a voluntary functionary of the Workers' Welfare Association (AWO) Herzogenrath - Merkstein .

In 1970 she became a member of the workers' welfare organization. There she immediately took on numerous voluntary tasks. She is currently deputy chairwoman of the AWO local association Herzogenrath-Merkstein, which with 800 members is one of the largest in the Middle Rhine district.

Ursula Foitzik is still an active member of the Association of German Youth in Europe (DJO) and the association WAWAWASI - House of Children eV, which cares for disabled and disadvantaged children in Peru.

In 1997, the Federal Association of Workers' Welfare honored Ursula Foitzik with the AWO's highest award for volunteer work, the AWO's Medal of Merit, which is awarded in memory of the association's founder Marie Juchacz . On August 13, 2007, she was further honored with the Order of Merit of the Federal Republic of Germany.
