Ursula Keller (* 1940 in Lodz ) is a German literary scholar, dramaturge and author.

Live and act

Keller studied German, Romance languages ​​and philosophy in Göttingen, Tübingen, Heidelberg, Aix-en-Provence and Frankfurt. In 1980 she did her doctorate at the University of Tübingen under Walter Jens . From 1980 to 1991 she worked as a freelance television journalist, creating literary portraits and film essays as well as essays for radio and print media.

Since she took part in the theater production "The Wedding of the Pope" in 1985, Ursula Keller has worked as a dramaturge at various German theaters. She co-directed the Frankfurt Theater am Turm. In 1989 she prepared the conception of the theater project "The Well Greased Muscle" for the summer theater at Kampnagel. "From these changing and overlapping activities it is easy to see that they all revolve around the communication of literature.

From October 1986 to March 1987 Ursula Keller and Reinhard Wittmann organized the ten-part series Literature in Conversation at the Museum für Kunst und Gewerbe , a combination of readings, small productions and panel debates, the purpose of which was to identify the position of literature in the current cultural scene.

From 1992 to 2005 she was the program director of the Literaturhaus Hamburg held
