René Zeyer
René Zeyer (born October 3, 1955 in Berlin ) is a German journalist and author based in Switzerland .
Life
Zeyer studied history and German at the University of Zurich . He received his doctorate in 1985 with Peter von Matt with a thesis on the thought forms of Lion Feuchtwanger . He began his professional career as a reporter and editor , among others at TransAtlantik and the magazine Wiener . Then he was head of text and production at Schweizer Illustrierte , then foreign correspondent for the Neue Zürcher Zeitung based in the Cuban capital Havana . In 2000 he returned to Switzerland and initially worked as a correspondent for Stern , then as an author and producer for the SonntagsZeitung , as an author for the Basler Zeitung and as a senior consultant and vice- CEO at a communications agency, and as a consultant for banks and financial service providers . Since 2008 he has been active as spokesman for victims of the bankruptcy of the US investment bank Lehman Brothers in Switzerland.
Zeyer used to write regularly on the online platform Journal21 and is the owner of Zeyer Kommunikation . In April 2019 he was u. a. by Arthur Rutishauser , editor of the Sunday paper , accused of writing his journalistic activities with those as a paid communications strategist to mix and favorable exchange for money article about his client communications company. Zeyer did not comment directly on the allegations, but described them as "unfounded" in a post published a few months later on persoenlich.com . Zeyer has been a guest author for the Axis of the Good since 2014 .
Since July 2020 he has been running the media-critical online portal Zackbum.ch with Beni Frenkel and Lorenz Steinmann . The media show.
He is married to a Cuban woman and lives in Zurich.
