Ursula Langendorf

Ursula Langendorf (born January 17, 1953 in Kronach ) is a German politician ( Die Grünen ).

After elementary school, Langendorf attended grammar school, where she graduated from high school in 1973. She then studied agricultural sciences at the Georg August University of Göttingen , where she graduated in 1979 with a degree in agricultural engineering specializing in economics and social sciences. She got involved early on in rural youth and adult education. From 1980 until her election to the Lower Saxony state parliament , she was a research assistant at the Federal Research Center for Agriculture (FAL). She published several research papers, including on the effects of the EC mountain farmers program and on living conditions in rural areas.

Langendorf joined the SPD in 1980 , from which she resigned in 1982 because of what she saw as an inconsistent peace and women's policy . From then on she worked in the Green Alternative Citizens List in Hildesheim and joined the Green Party in 1984. For the Greens she was in the eleventh electoral term from June 21, 1986 to June 20, 1990 a member of the Lower Saxony state parliament . During this time she was deputy chairwoman of the parliamentary group from 1986 to 1987 and again from 1989 to 1990.

Langendorf later worked in the Lower Saxony Ministry for the Environment, Energy and Climate Protection . She is currently working as a consultant.
