Ustadi
The non-profit association Ustadi eV ( original spelling in capital letters: USTADI) has been the successor organization to the Berlin-Nairobi Exchange since 2009, which has promoted academic exchange between Germany and the countries of East Africa since 1995 . In cooperation with the University of Nairobi and the Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology , 20 German physics students have spent an academic year in Kenya since the exchange began . At the same time, three Kenyan students completed an academic stay in Germany.
The association is the only organization that offers bachelor's degrees for German physics students at an African university south of the Sahara and outside of South Africa . The German wave reported in radio program on the exchange as part of the series Campus Global . The exchange on the supervisory board was supported by Bodo Hamprecht , physics professor at the Free University of Berlin .
In cooperation with the Hahn Meitner Institute , a two-week summer school on the subject of photovoltaics was organized in Nairobi in 2007 . Cost-effective Photovoltaics Research - A Summer School in East Africa was funded by the Volkswagen Foundation and the UNESCO African Science and Technology Network ANSTI .
