Ute Menzel (* 1963 in Gotha ) is a German theater actress .

Life

Ute Menzel graduated from high school in Gera . Then, from 1982 to 1986, she went to the Leipzig Theater Academy and the Magdeburg Theater Studio to complete her training as an actress. She has been part of the Plauener Theater ensemble since 1986 and has also played there since the merger with the Zwickau Theater. Ute Menzel volunteers to lead the children's and youth theater group "Alles Theater" of the Child Protection Association , in which she teaches young people how to act. She is married to the theater actor Dieter Maas .

Artistic work

Ute Menzel plays major theater roles, such as Elsa in Der Drache , Die Maria Stuart , or the woman in Men and Other Mistakes , a theater adaptation of a comic by Florence Cestac . In addition to her work at the theater, she also worked in film and television. For example in The Silence after the Shot by Volker Schlöndorff , or as Envy in On the Road in Saxony at MDR .
