Uwe-Jens Rössel

Uwe-Jens Rössel (born July 2, 1950 in Freiberg ) is a German politician ( PDS ) and former member of the Bundestag .

Life

Rössel attended the Polytechnic High School in Colmnitz from 1957 to 1965 and then the Extended High School in Freital until 1969 . He then completed a vocational training for industrial manager in stainless steel Freital . In 1969 he graduated from high school and received the skilled worker certificate as an industrial clerk. From 1969 to 1973 he studied at the Berlin School of Economics, which is now part of the Berlin University of Applied Sciences , specializing in mathematics and data processing in business . In 1973 he graduated with a degree in economics . Since he was classified as unfit for military service, he was able to work immediately afterwards. He was from 1973 to 1978 as a research assistant employed at the University of Economics in 1978 was followed by the promotion of Doctor of Economics . He then worked as a research assistant in the Council of Ministers of the GDR until 1986 .

Rössel was a member of various socially oriented associations and clubs in his constituency. He had been a member of the SED since 1974, and from 1986 to 1987 he completed a one-year course at the party college in Berlin. From 1987 to 1989 he was a member of the central committee of the SED and from 1990 to 1991 a working group leader in the party executive committee of the PDS. From 1991 to 1994 he was a speaker in the Bundestag group of the PDS / Left List. Then Rössel moved into the German Bundestag as a PDS politician , where he was the local political spokesman for the PDS parliamentary group. He was a member of the Bundestag for two full legislative terms until 2002. Until the beginning of 2013 he was a scientific advisor to the Left Party in the Lower Saxony state parliament.
