Uwe Britten

Uwe Britten (* 1961 in Werl ) is a German author.

After several attempts on a second educational path, Britten obtained the Abitur and then studied German and philosophy in Bamberg and Siegen.

He lived on the streets for six weeks while researching his reportage novel Straßenkid . In this way he got closer contact to Berlin street children .

Two juvenile detention centers allowed him to have closer contact with convicted juvenile offenders in order to gather information for the book Off To Jail .

Together with the journalist Eva Schlittenbauer, he interviewed former RAF member Peter-Jürgen Boock as part of his research on the book Ab in den Knast .
