Uwe Hasebrink

Uwe Hasebrink (born June 27, 1958 in Essen ) is a German communication scientist .

Life

He studied psychology and German in Hamburg . After receiving his doctorate (describing the structures of meaning perceived by recipients of a text) in Hamburg in 1986, he worked for three years as a research assistant at the Institute for Social Psychology at the University of Hamburg . He has been working at the Hans Bredow Institute since 1986 , initially as a scientific advisor, and from 1988 in the role of managing advisor. In 1998 he was elected to the directorate of the institute. In 1999 he was a professor for communication studies at the Hanover University of Music and Drama. In spring 2001 he was jointly appointed to a professorship for “Empirical Communication Studies” by the University of Hamburg and the Hans Bredow Institute.
