Uwe Hericks

Uwe Hericks (born February 11, 1961 in Minden ) is Professor of General Didactics , School and Educational Theory in the Faculty of Education at the Philipps University of Marburg .

Hericks began his studies at the University of Heidelberg in 1982 and continued it in 1984 at the Westfälische Wilhelms-Universität in Münster , where he passed the first state examination and then obtained his doctorate. After his legal clerkship, also in Münster, he worked as a research assistant in the field of physics didactics at the University of Bremen before he started teaching at a North Rhine-Westphalian comprehensive school in 1994 with the subjects of mathematics and physics . In 2000 he began his assistant and habilitation at the University of Hamburg, where he was appointed private lecturer, in the subject area "Professionalization". In the 2005/06 winter semester, he took on a substitute professorship at the PH Heidelberg before he was given a permanent chair there a year later.

Since winter semester 2009/10 he has been Professor of General Didactics , School and Educational Theory - successor to Rainer Lersch, Wolfgang Klafki  - at the Institute for School Education at the Philipps University in Marburg .

Hericks is particularly active in professionalization research, educational program research, qualitative school and teaching research as well as empirical specialist cultural research.
