Uwe Krause (musician)

Uwe Krause (* 1969 in Dresden ) is a German composer , pianist and music teacher .

From 1982 to 1987 Krause was a pupil in the composer's class in Halle with Hans-Jürgen Wenzel and then studied composition with Wilfried Krätzschmar and piano with Gunnar Nauck at the Dresden University of Music . He also studied chamber music at the Franz Liszt Academy in Budapest with Ferenc Rados and György Kurtág .

Krause's compositional work encompasses almost all genres between orchestral and film music , chamber music and musicals . His work On s'aime dans la Rue Monge was premiered at the 6th Dresden Days of Contemporary Music .

He is the artistic director of the Niederlausitz Chamber Ensemble and member of the board of the Brandenburg Association for New Music

From 1999 to 2008 Uwe Krause was head of the Halle composer class and is currently a deputy board member of the Friends of the Halle composer class

Krause's works are regularly performed internationally (performances in Germany, Finland, Hungary, Holland, Azerbaijan) by well-known ensembles such as the Kammerensemble Neue Musik Berlin , the Thürmchen-Ensemble Cologne or Sinfonietta Dresden . As a pianist, he is also in demand in contemporary chamber music.

Krause lives as a freelance composer, musician and music teacher in Weißack ( Niederlausitz ).
