Uwe Lummitsch

Uwe Lummitsch (born February 21, 1956 , † April 21, 1988 ) was a German poet.

Uwe Lummitsch lived in Stralsund . Due to polio , he had been dependent on a wheelchair since he was four .

In 1985 he was awarded the Johannes R. Becher diploma from the Kulturbund of the GDR . Two years later, in 1987, he published the volume of poetry "Mondlandung" in the Mitteldeutscher Verlag ; his editor was Erika Rüdenauer. Uwe Lummitsch died shortly before receiving the sponsorship award from the Mitteldeutscher Verlag and the literature institute "Johannes R. Becher" as a result of his illness.

He belonged to a group of poets that included Thomas Kunst , Jörn Hühnerbein and Jörg Schieke. Uwe Lummitsch was a participant in a poetry seminar .
