Uwe Viehmann

Uwe Viehmann (born March 27, 1973 in Limburg an der Lahn ) is a German editor, creative director and digital strategist.

Viehmann played in various bands. With Cosmic Debris he recorded an album for Bad Moon Records, the label of the Boxhamsters . He went to Cologne in the mid-nineties and started working as a stamp gluer at the Spex publishing house. After several articles for the paper, he became editor in 1997. When Spex was taken over by the Munich publishing house Piranha Media in January 2000 and the old editor-in-chief Dietmar Dath left, he became editor-in-chief. Under his leadership, the paper won various prizes such as the ADC Award and the Lead Award for u. a. best “music and lifestyle magazine” in 2004, 2005 and 2006. At the end of 2006, he and all of his colleagues opposed the publisher's plans to move the editorial office to Berlin. After long arguments between the publisher and employees, the paper was taken over by a completely new editorial team in Berlin.

From May 2007 to September 2009, Viehmann worked as Head of Editorial for the online entertainment and rich media publishing platform Hobnox in Berlin. He then worked as a freelancer for various projects, mainly in the areas of music, (web) TV and social media. From January 2012 to August 2017 he worked as a creative director at the Kreuzberg design and digital agency Henkelhiedl . He is currently working freelance in the areas of "creative direction, digital strategy consulting and branding; transformation, conception, editing".
