Uwe Wesp

Uwe Wesp (* 1942 in Berlin ) is a German meteorologist . From 1975 to 2007 he moderated the weather section of heute news on ZDF .

biography

Wesp studied meteorology, physics, geophysics and mathematics at the Goethe University in Frankfurt am Main , where he graduated in 1969 as a qualified meteorologist. He then worked from 1972 at the German Weather Service in the aviation weather service division, where over time he also took on other tasks at the headquarters. Among other things, he was press spokesman for the DWD for 20 years (until 2002). From 1975 Wesp worked as a freelancer for ZDF . In 2005 he gave up his activities at the DWD and only worked for the station. At the end of September 2007, Wesp retired after 32 years at ZDF. Uwe Wesp has two children and is now a grandfather.
