Václav Reischl

Václav Reischl (* 1947 in Vetrny) is a Czech photographer, documentary filmmaker, director and screenwriter.

Reischl graduated from FAMU in Prague in 1972 with a degree in photography . In 1973 he moved from Czechoslovakia to the Federal Republic. Together with his former fellow student Juraj Lipták, he founded the photo studio R&L and the company Bild & Filmproduktion in 1978. In 1983 he received a scholarship from the Baden-Württemberg Cultural Foundation. While he focused on commercial work in photography, his documentaries are independent productions with which he takes up speculative or suppressed topics and processes them into expressive films. He lives and works in Stuttgart .
