The Véraza group is a western European cultural group of the late Neolithic , which spread between 3500 and 2000 BC. Chr. In Catalonia and in the southern French region of Occitania had established.

The eponymous site of the Véraza group is the Lavalet caves near Véraza in the Aude department , excavated by Jean Guilaine.

Megalithic buildings

The people of the Véraza group have built numerous megalithic tombs in their settlement area . The dolmen Lo Morrel dos Fados near Pépieux and the necropolis of La Clape , both in the Aude department, are particularly noteworthy .

Settlements

Ceramics from the Véraza group come from an Abri near Berguedá.

In 2008, INRAP archaeologists unearthed remains of buildings belonging to the Véraza group near Montredon near Carcassonne .
