The Vöðlavík is a bay in the east fjords of Iceland .
A road led here even before 1940. Today it is Vöðlavíkurvegur (road 958). Eskifjörður can be reached via it and Helgustaðavegur (road 954) . From this bay there was a boat connection to Neskaupstaður , until the road into Viðfjörður was built and the sea route shortened. Today the area in the bay is uninhabited.
The bay is known in Iceland for a shipwreck. In December 1993, a Vestmannaeyjar fishing boat ran aground . The crew could be rescued, but when the ship was salvaged in January 1994, a rescue man had an accident.
