Birds in Germany has been published once a year since 2007 and is edited by the Umbrella Association of German Avifaunists (DDA), the Federal Agency for Nature Conservation (BfN) and the State Working Group of Bird Protection Centers (LAG VSW). The magazine is self-published by the DDA in Münster . Cooperation partners for the publication are the German Ornithological Society (DO-G), the German Council for Bird Protection , the Nature Conservation Union Germany (NABU) and the Bird World Germany Foundation .

Most of the articles in the magazine appear without naming the authors.

Purchase and costs

Birds in Germany costs 9.80 euros plus shipping costs for DDA publications as a single issue and 7.50 euros plus shipping costs for subscription. Issues more than two years old can be purchased for 5 euros plus shipping costs. Employees in bird monitoring programs receive the booklet free of charge. All published issues can be read or downloaded online from the DDA homepage. The printing and production of the magazine are financially supported with funds from the federal government and the German federal states within the framework of the bird monitoring administrative agreement .
