Vörå-Maxmo
Vörå-Maxmo ( Swedish ; Finnish : Vöyri-Maksamaa ) was a municipality in the Finnish countryside of Österbotten . It existed from 2007 to 2011 and is now part of the municipality of Vörå .
The municipality of Vörå-Maxmo was created at the beginning of 2007 through the merger of the municipalities of Vörå and Maxmo . Four years later, at the beginning of 2011, Vörå-Maxmo merged with the Oravais municipality . The new municipality bears the name Vörå again.
Vörå-Maxmo was east of the city of Vaasa on the west coast of Finland in the Österbotten countryside. The municipality of Vörå-Maxmo had an area of 582.3 square kilometers (excluding the marine areas) and most recently had 4,479 inhabitants. Of these, 84% spoke Swedish and 14% Finnish as their mother tongue. Officially, the community was bilingual with Swedish as the majority and Finnish as the minority language.
The municipality of Vörå-Maxmo adopted the former coat of arms of the municipality of Maxmo as its coat of arms. Since the municipal merger in 2011, the new municipality of Vörå has had the same coat of arms.
