The VDSI - Association for Safety, Health and Environmental Protection at Work is a professional association for occupational safety , environmental protection and health based in Wiesbaden .
The VDSI is a non-profit , politically and economically independent association . history

In 1951 it was founded as a working group of safety engineers in Königswinter . In 1954 the name was changed to the Association of German Safety Engineers (VDSI). The Wiesbaden office has existed since 1977. In 1980 the Association of Security Technicians and Security Masters (VSTM) joined.

After the German reunification , many members of the working group of the Chamber of Technology of the GDR joined the VDSI. In 1993 the name was changed to the Association of German Safety Engineers and the company's health protection department expanded the objectives. In 1997, environmental protection was defined as an additional area of ​​responsibility and the Society for Quality in Occupational Safety (GQA) was founded. In 2014 the company was renamed VDSI - Association for Safety, Health and Environmental Protection at Work. The new name is intended to emphasize the opening up of the association to all specialists in occupational health and safety and environmental protection.
