VIXX LR
VIXX LR ( Korean 빅스 LR) is the first subgroup of the South Korean boy group VIXX . The group consists of the VIXX singer Leo and VIXX rapper Ravi . They made their debut on August 17, 2015 with their first mini-album, Beautiful Liar .
origin of the name
The name VIXX LR is a combination of VIXX ( Korean 빅스 pronounced “Vicks”, abbreviation for Voice, Visual, Value in Excelsis) and the initials of the two members. In an interview with Pops in Seoul , VIXX LR stated that their name would also stand for Left and Right . It is meant to mean that their opposing properties work together to create harmony. Additionally, the letters L and R represent the first and last letters of the word L ia R from the title of their debut mini-album Beautiful Liar .
history
On August 7, 2015, Jellyfish Entertainment released a video trailer on the official VIXX website. There was a mysterious countdown with the silhouette of the last album Boys' Record . When the time ran out, the VIXX members disappeared until finally only Leo and Ravi could be seen. This led fans to suspect that it would mark a comeback for all 6 members. The VIXX LR video trailer was then released.
Of Jellyfish Entertainment was confirmed that Vixx LR the first subgroup was of Vixx consisting of the rappers Ravi and singer Leo . They made their debut with the mini-album Beautiful Liar , which was released on August 17, 2015. On the same day they made their first appearance with Beautiful Liar at Yes24 Muv Hall in Mapo-gu , Seoul . The duo started promoting their album on August 18th with their first debut stage performance on the SBS MTV music show The Show .
VIXX LR made it to number 2 on the Billboard World Album Charts and the South Korean Gaon Album Charts . On September 1st, they won the SBS MTV music show The Show with 9,464 votes . After VIXX with “Error” they had the second highest number of votes of all time. On September 4th, 2015 VIXX LR ended their three-week promotion phase for Beautiful Liar on the KBS2 music program Music Bank with a goodbye stage performance .
At the Mnet Asian Music Awards 2015 , VIXX LR were nominated in the categories Best Collaboration and Unit and Song of the Year . In January 2016, they held a concert in Nagoya , Tokyo and Osaka as part of their Beautiful Liar Tour in Japan .
