Vae Victis! (lat. " Woe to the vanquished ") is a French comic series by Simon Rocca (text, alias Georges Ramaïoli) and Jean-Yves Mitton (drawings), which appeared between 1991 and 2006 in a total of 15 volumes by the comic book publisher Soleil Productions is. The comic was first published in German by Splitter Verlag , from Volume 7 onwards by Kult Editions .

The epic tells the story of Britannierin Boadicca that as a slave to Rome is kidnapped. Escaped from there, she moves under her slave name "Amber" (Eng. For "amber", so called because of her red-blonde hair) at the time of the Gallic War (58 to 51/50 BC) with her changing companions through Gaul and tries to warn the Celtic tribes of Gaul and Britain against the plans to conquer Rome under General Julius Caesar . While fleeing from her enemies, she repeatedly finds herself in the midst of bloody intrigues and armed conflicts between Romans , Celts and Teutons and meets the great figures of this time (Julius Caesar, Vercingetorix , Pompejus ). Finally, when she arrives in her British homeland, she is confronted with her true origin. Here, then their fate as met Boadicca , Queen of the Iceni .
