Vacantieurs

The Vakantiebeurs is the largest leisure and tourism fair in the Netherlands . It takes place at the Jaarbeurs exhibition center in Utrecht . Regions introduce themselves, outfitters and tourism providers inform. The fair is aimed at experts from the travel and tourism industry and - as a consumer fair - also at interested private individuals.

The vacantie course takes place annually in January in Utrecht and lasts just under a week. In 2013 the fair took place between January 9th and January 13th. In 2014 the fair started on January 15th and ended on January 19th.

In 2014, Germany was the partner country of the vacancy course. In Hall 9, German regions presented themselves to the trade fair audience. With 117,073 visitors, the 2014 Vakantiebeurs reported a 13 percent increase in visitors. In the same year, the Dutch railway company (NS) used two special trains for the first time on the Saturday of the fair, which ran from Zwolle via Amersfoort to Utrecht . A survey of the visitors at the trade fair showed that the planned vacation spending in 2014, at 3,300 euros, was three times as high as in the previous year.
