Vacuum gas oil

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The vacuum gas oil is an intermediate product in the refining process of petroleum . It is made from the mineral crude oil after desalination, an atmospheric distillation and a subsequent steam distillation . The main products of the petroleum are then produced from the resulting vacuum gas oil through further steps such as hydrogenation and cracking , on the one hand the motor gasoline and on the other hand the middle distillate, i.e. the diesel fuel and the heating oil .
