Valentin Herbert

Valentin Herbert (born November 19, 1864 in Gernsheim ; † June 12, 1933 in Goddelau ) was a Hessian politician ( center ) and a former member of the state parliament of the People's State of Hesse in the Weimar Republic .

family

Valentin Herbert was the son of the farmer Sebastian Herbert and his wife Appolonia, née Gutjahr. On September 15, 1891, he married Elisabethe nee Schwartz.

education and profession

Valentin Herbert worked as a postal clerk since 1878, as a postal assistant in 1881 and as a postal assistant from 1885. He later became an office assistant at the Oberpostdirektion Darmstadt and in 1903 telegraph secretary at the Darmstadt telegraph office. In 1908 he became chief post secretary.

politics

Valentin Herbert was a Catholic and politically joined the center. He was a city councilor and from 1919 to 1924 a member of the state parliament.
