Valentina Salazar (born January 31, 1996 ) is a Chilean javelin thrower .

Athletic career

Valentina Salazar gained her first international experience in 2013 at the Junior South American Championships in Resistencia , where she took sixth place with a width of 46.21 m. The following year, she took part in the South American Games in Santiago de Chile , where she finished eighth with 43.99 m, before she came seventh at the U23 South American Championships in Montevideo with 46.09 m. In 2015 she won the bronze medal at the Junior South American Championships in Cuenca with 49.05 m and then she was eliminated at the Summer Universiade in Gwangjuwith 46.22 m in the qualification. At the Pan American Junior Championships in Edmonton , she was sixth with 50.61 m. At the U23 South American Athletics Championships in Lima in 2016 , she won the bronze medal with 49.23 m, and the following year she finished eighth with 42.40 m at the South American Championships in Luque .
