Valentina Truppa (born March 18, 1986 in Milan , Lombardy ) is an Italian dressage rider .

Career

She started riding at the age of six and competed for the first time at the age of 12. In 2011 she won the world cup tournament in Frankfurt with Eremo del Castegno . She was the first Italian dressage rider to win such a test. In 2012 she started as a single rider at the Olympic Games in London . At the dressage tournament in Arezzo, Truppa's climbing horse fell and buried her under itself. She suffered severe head injuries, which made her condition critical but not life threatening.

Truppa lives in Asti . Her father is the dressage rider Enzo Truppa, with whom she runs the Centro Equestre Monferrato.
