Maison de Chateaubriand

Vallée-aux-Loups , also Maison de Chateaubriand , is a castle in Châtenay-Malabry in the Hauts-de-Seine department . François-René de Chateaubriand lived there from 1807 to 1818. The castle and its park are a monument historique under monument protection . At the end of the 18th century, the castle was built by André-Arnoult Acloque . Chateaubriand acquired it on August 22, 1807. After losing his post in 1816, he had tosellit to Mathieu de Montmorency . In 1910 Henri le Savoureux bought the property and in 1967 the department. Georges Poisson campaigned successfully to save the dilapidated castle.
