Van Hise Rock
The Van Hise Rock is after the geologist Charles R. Van Hise named rocks in US -amerikanischen State Wisconsin .
Van Hise Rock is about 2 miles from Rock Springs in Sauk County . The stone, which is considered to be very informative for numerous geological issues, especially in areas in which Van Hise researched, was named in his honor. During his time as a professor at the University of Wisconsin – Madison, Van Hise used the rock as a showpiece in the field of structural geology . It is considered a tourist attraction and is used by numerous universities as a showpiece for students. Van Hise Rock was added to the National Register of Historic Places in September 1997 and recognized as a National Historic Landmark . It is one of 43 National Historic Landmarks in Wisconsin.
