Vanessa Hortense Mballa Atangana (born January 5, 1992 in Bikok , Méfou-et-Akono ) is a Cameroonian judoka .

Career

The 171 centimeter tall Cameroonian took part in the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, in the light heavyweight division (up to 78 kilograms), but was eliminated in the first round against Daria Pogorzelec from Poland (000s3: 000s0).

Participation in the 2013 Francophonie Games with a fifth place as well as the 2014 Commonwealth Games and the 2015 African Games with winning the bronze medal were more successful . Mballa is a three-time African champion ( 2016 in the light heavyweight and open class and again in 2017 in the open class) and was able to win seven other medals at the continental championships.
