Vasilijus Popovas
Vasilijus Popovas (born March 7, 1956 in Mironiškis , Zarasai district ) is a Lithuanian politician from Kaunas , former member of the Seimas .
Life
Vasilijus Popovas is the brother of Petras Papovas . From 1963 to 1971 he attended school in Stelmužė and, after graduating from high school, from 1971 to 1974 the boarding school in Zarasai . In 1979 he graduated from Kauno politechnikos institutas and became a radio engineer. In 1979 he was an instructor of the Komsomol Committee in Kaunas , from 1991 to 1994 he worked at UAB “Ada” and in 1994 at IAB “Elektronikos investicija” (as director), from 1995 to 2000 at AB “ Lietuvos taupomasis bankas ” in Kaunas. From 2000 to 2004 he was a member of the Seimas , from 2005 a member of the city council and from 2012 deputy mayor of Kaunas.
From 1990 he was a member of Lietuvos democinė darbo partija , deputy chairwoman of the Kaunas City Council, from 2001 a member of the Lietuvos socialdemokratų partija .
