Vatma Vall Mint Soueina

Vatma Vall Mint Soueina ( Arabic فاطمة فال بنت اصوينع, DMG Fāṭima Fāl bt. Iswainiʿ ; * August 25, 1977 in Ayoûn el-Atroûs ) is a Mauritanian politician. She was the country's foreign minister in 2015 and is now minister for livestock.

Life

Soueina was born on August 25, 1977 in Ayoûn el-Atroûs. She is a member of the blacksmith caste. She studied at the Lycée National in Nouakchott before graduating from the University of Nouakchott with a Masters degree in English in 2001 .

Soueina was a high school English teacher from 2001 to 2005 before becoming Professor of American Studies and Literature at the University of Nouakchott in 2005 . In 2014 she was Minister for Culture and Crafts. Soueina was appointed Foreign Minister in January 2015. She chaired the 142nd session of the Arab League Council and the 26th session of the African Union Executive Council in Addis Ababa .

In September 2015 she was replaced by Hamadi Ould Meimou during a cabinet reshuffle by President Mohamed Ould Abdel Aziz and then appointed Minister for Livestock.
