Večerníček

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Večerníček ( loosely translated evening man ) is a daily fairy tale show on Czech and Slovak television that already existed in Czechoslovakia . It is comparable to the German program Unser Sandmännchen .

The symbol of this program in the Czech Republic is the boy with a paper cap on his head, unchanged since it was first broadcast on January 2, 1965, who greets the children in the opening credits with “Dobrý večer!” (German: Good evening!) And then after about 7 minutes Farewell to them with “Dobrou noc!” (Eng .: good night!). In between there is a short episode of a cartoon or puppet series, most of which are Czech productions. The theme tune that plays during the opening and closing credits is the oldest in the Czech Republic.

In Slovakia, on the other hand, the fairy tales are introduced by an elderly man (probably a shepherd) who lives in a house on a hill, who is accompanied by a dog and, more recently, a cat, and the fairy tale by touching stars in the night sky by means of a Staff "switches on".

history

In 1963, the predecessor of Večerníček, the Stříbrné zrcátko (German: Silver Mirror), started as a Sunday broadcast in the evening program on Czechoslovak television . On January 2, 1965, this broadcast was then replaced by Večerníček, which initially only ran on Sundays and was broadcast in black and white. The first color episode aired in 1973.
