The Veľký Kriváň is the highest peak of Little Fatra in Slovakia .
location
The mountain is located on the southern edge of the Vrátna Valley in the central part of the main ridge of the Krivánska Fatra . He is the namesake for this part of the mountain.
character
The Veľký Kriváň is made of limestone . It rises relatively inconspicuously in the main ridge. The southwestern flank is the steepest; there are rocky sections here. The remaining slopes are overgrown with grass or mountain pines . From the summit a free panoramic view is possible in all directions.
Ascent
On the northern slope of the mountain, a red marked path leads past the summit. A short, specially marked path leads from this path to the highest point. The easiest way to get up is from the Snilovské sedlo saddle , the top station of the cable car leading from the Vrátna Valley.
