The Vedado district of the Cuban capital Havana is the modern center of Havana. In contrast to the historic old town , Art Deco and classical modern buildings dominate here .

Vedado forms the main part of the urban administrative unit Plaza de la Revolución . There are a number of government and embassy buildings in Vedado, including that of the United States . Vedado borders the Centro Habana district to the east and Miramar to the west . The northern border is the famous Malecón embankment .

Many of the most popular meeting places of Havana are located on the Calle 23 in the section of the Malecón to Calle L and La Rampa is called. There you will find the ice cream parlors of Park Coppelia , the cinema Cine Yara or various discos. The famous hotels “Nacional” and “Habana Libre” are also located on the ramp .
