The Veiðileysa is a fjord in the Westfjords of Iceland .
This fjord is actually called Veiðileysufjörður á Ströndum and is located south of Reykjarfjörður on the east coast of the Westfjords. It is 2 km wide and extends 5 km into the country. Road 643, Strandavegur, runs along its south bank. There are no more permanently inhabited houses in the fjord. The fjord got its name "without fishing" after a folk legend. The witch Kráka cursed him after she lost two of her sons here.
There is also a Veiðileysufjörður nearby, which is in Jökulfirðir .
