The violet amazon ( Amazona violacea ), also known as the Guadalupe Parrot , was probably a species of parrot from the subfamily of the New World parrots . This Amazonenart but applies just as the Martinique Amazon since the beginning of the 18th century to be extinct.

References to the violet amazon, which is said to have been widespread on the island of Guadeloupe , existed as early as the 17th century. However, detailed information about the appearance and way of life of this parrot species is missing. There are no museum bellows of this type. It cannot therefore be ruled out that the violet amazon is one of the amazon species that are still found in the Lesser Antilles today.
