Veitch Memorial Medal
The Veitch Memorial Medal has been awarded annually by the Royal Horticultural Society since 1869 to those who have made an extraordinary contribution to scientific and practical progress in horticulture .
It is named after James Veitch junior (1815–1869), the owner of the Veitch and Sons nursery near Chelsea .
