Lists on the subject

The Vektor SS-77 is a machine gun from the South African armaments company Denel in the 7.62 × 51 mm NATO caliber . The weapon was developed from 1977 by the two developers Smith and Soreig. Hence the name of the weapon is derived, SS for Smith and Soreig and 77 for the start of development.

From 1986 it was then issued to the South African armed forces . In 1994 the Mini-SS was launched, which fires the 5.56 × 45mm NATO caliber . This is actually a kit in which the barrel, slide, throttle linkage and other small parts are replaced, which also enables the SS-77 to be converted into a mini-SS in the field.
