Lists on the subject

The Vektor CR-21 is a South African assault rifle .

General

The construction of this weapon is based on the Israeli Galil . The rifle was developed in the Bullpup design, in which the magazine and the locking system are behind the trigger. As a result, relatively short weapons can be built with comparable technical performance as conventional assault rifles. The gun body was cast from a high-strength polymer. To dismantle the weapon, only the strap has to be loosened, then you get two larger parts. The front part contains the barrel and the trigger system, and the rear part the breech and the buttstock. The fuse and the selection lever for the type of fire are located on the back of the shoulder rest and can be operated by the shooter with the left hand.

Target system

Like the German HK G36 , the CR-21 has a reflex sight . The sight sits in a 1 cm × 3 cm plastic block on the weapon. It is constructed in such a way that it has a slightly intensifying effect. An additional passive, monocular residual light amplifier is installed for combat at night. At the same time, it is possible to mount a tactical light or a laser aiming device under the barrel.

Accessories

As with most assault rifles, some accessories were also produced for the CR-21. A single-shot 40 mm grenade launcher can be attached. It is also possible to replace the flash hider with a silencer .
