Lists on the subject |
The Vektor CP1 was a semi-automatic pistol , which was produced by the South African company Lyttleton Engineering Works (LIW) or Vektor from 1996 to 2000.
history
The Vektor CP1 was introduced in 1996 by Lyttelton Engineering Works (LIW) or Vektor, today's Denel Land Systems . Denel Land Systems is part of the Denel group of companies . A special feature when they were introduced was their futuristic appearance. Since the weapon only had rounded corners, it was predestined for concealed carrying and was marketed as a "concealed weapon". The retail price at the time was between $ 350 and $ 400.
technology
The 177 mm long weapon had a frame made of polymer and worked with a gas-delayed mass lock . After the magazine was inserted and the slide returned, the hammer, which was completely inside the weapon, was cocked and the weapon was ready to fire. There was no way to relax the gun. For this, the pistol had two safety mechanisms that were supposed to prevent the weapon from being fired accidentally. The trigger guard housed a lever that had to be pushed forward to unlock the weapon. A red marking was visible on the lever when it was locked.
Alternatively, a magazine with 13 or 12 rounds could be used. The muzzle velocity was between 300 and 360 meters per second.
recall
In October 2000, the CP1 was recalled because a problem with the internal security mechanism was identified. This made it possible for the weapon to fire independently if it fell on the ground. Vector offered $ 500 to each CP1 owner to return the gun.
