The place is located 8 kilometers southeast of Straßwalchen and 23½ kilometers west of Vöcklabruck in the area around the Zeller or Irrsee , just under 6 kilometers northwest of Zell am Moos .

The village of Jagdhub is on the left above the upper Vöckla at around 600  m above sea level. A. Height at the foot of the Schoibernberg  ( 883  m above sea level ) of the Mondsee Flysch Mountains . The young Vöckla breaks through here - coming from the Mondsee area to the Haslauer Weitung - between Schoibernberg and Kogler Berg  ( 819  m above sea level ) to the west, and the northwest foothills of the Glashüttenwald and the Rehberg (Die Röten  819  m above sea level ) to the east . The valley widens again, and here it leaves the Alps and enters the Vöckla-Ager hill country as part of the Alpine foothills . At Frankenmarkt 5 kilometers further, it turns eastwards. History, infrastructure and sights

The name stands for Hufe , an old square measure and title of ownership. Alternatively, the old name is Ed ( desert ).

The remote location belonged to the district court of Kogl des Attergau until 1823 (with southern Attersee, seat in the castle of St. Georgen ). Then a border adjustment took place between what was then the crown land of Austria above the Enns and the Salzach district , which at the time formed a part of the country . This means she can go to Straßwalchen, which was the Hochfeld regional court at the time .

The place can be reached from the L1281  Vöcklatalstraße B1 near Schwaigern - Zell am Moos , which runs down the Vöckla.

The place has a small local chapel of the Holy Family , donated by a local in 1896. It is a listed building.
