Geology, history and infrastructure

Hüttenedt is located on the high terrace of the Riss-Kaltzeitlichen glacier foreland , while the valley floor is the Vöckla Niederterrasse. This last advance of the Irrsee glacier of the Dachstein glacier , around 300,000 and 100,000 years ago , probably did not reach here ( terminal moraines about above at Zagling and Volkerding ), the other (right) Vöcklatal side, on the other hand, at Giga and Schüblingen , is a mighty Mindel moraine , over 400,000 years old. Moraine remains from this time are also the backs of Pölzleiten and Reitzing.

The place name either corresponds to the old meaning of -edt 'abandoned repopulated locality' (the -ing names here could be old), or to the newer wasteland 'remote settlement'. The clearing names Schlag and Schwendt mostly date to the High Middle Ages (13th / 14th centuries).

Around 1830 there was only one homestead, the Wirth  (No. 1), and the Schuster House  (No. 2), the village around 25 houses. The parcel from vöcklaabwärts to cabinet tree came to Weißenkirchen with a border reform in 1823 between Austria above the Enns and the then part of the Salzachkreis .

From the B154  Mondsee Straße in Irrsdorf (Mondsee - Straßwalchen) the L265  Hüttenedter Landesstraße leads over the Hochfeld to the L1281  Vöcklatalstraße (Schwaigern / Frankenmarkt - Zell am Moos). It leads directly through the place.

Hüttenedt, together with high field a volunteer fire department , the fire company Hager-Hochfeld of FF Straßwalchen.
