Schwandt is a small town on the edge of the Salzkammergut Mountains in the border region between Salzburg and Upper Austria and belongs to the municipality of Straßwalchen in the Salzburg-Umgebung district .

geography

The area is located 5 kilometers east of Straßwalchen , 2½ kilometers northeast of Oberhofen am Irrsee and 7½ kilometers west of Frankenmarkt . Here the Vöcklatal meet to the east and the Irrsee area to the south, and to the northwest it leads via Straßwalchen into the Mattig valley . To the north lies the Hausruck and Kobernaußerwald train in the foothills of the Alps , and forms the gate landscape of Straßwalchen – Frankenmarkt.

The Rotte Schwandt is located on the northern foothills of the Kogler Berg  ( 819  m above sea level ) at around 640  m above sea level. A. Height.

This is where the watershed runs between Mattig and Vöckla , i.e. Inn to Traun : the Hainbach , which goes over the Schwemmbach to Mattig and the Inn to the north-west of Einstarten behind the Ecker Holz, is the source of the Weinbach , which rises to the north-west and runs through the Langholz near Schwaigern flows to Vöckla and Traun.

The place comprises about 10 buildings with around 25 inhabitants.

History and infrastructure

Around 1830 the place comprised only two farmsteads, the Wirth (Winkl No. 15) and the Hausstätter (recently demolished, No. 12/13).

The L265  Hüttenedter Landesstraße ( B154 in Irrsdorf - Hüttenedt to L1281  Vöcklatalstraße ) leads through the village.
