Quengert is a place in Flachgau in the state of Salzburg and belongs to the municipality of Straßwalchen in the district of Salzburg-Umgebung .

The place Quengert is a good 4½ kilometers northeast of Neumarkt am Wallersee , 2 kilometers southeast of the municipality capital Straßwalchen . It is located above Irrsdorf at the foot of the Irrsberg ( 884 m above sea level ), the northern foothills of the Kolomansberg massif , at around 560 m above sea level. A. Height.

history
The place name Gwengert comes from Old High German gewinnan 'laboriously to work out'. It is one of the very early hallway names in the room. The spelling Quengert is more recent.
With the construction of the Empress Elisabeth Railway (Westbahn) in 1860, the location was separated from the church so that it did not overgrown. In the 1950s there were only 5 houses here. Today, however, Quengert is a district of Irrsdorf.
