Venice TV Award
The Venice TV Award is an international television award that is presented annually in September in Venice. Two weeks after the Venice International Film Festival , jurors from all over the world meet to award the winners in 14 categories. The prerequisite for a nomination is that the production has been broadcast for the first time on a television station. This does not apply to the New Talent category.
Support organizations
- ACT (Association of Commercial TV) - The association of commercial television in Europe represents the interests of the leading commercial broadcasters in 37 European countries and is committed to promoting original TV content and protecting copyright law.
- IMZ (International Music + Media Center) - The IMZ International Music + Media Center, based in Vienna, is a non-profit organization founded in 1961 under the auspices of UNESCO to preserve the performing arts as a cultural asset, and in and through promote audiovisual media.
- egta (European Group of Television Advertising) - The European trade association for marketers of advertising solutions via screens and / or audio platforms is a non-profit association based in Brussels. The aim of the association is to operate the topic of television advertising on a political and social level.

In 2018, Great Britain and Germany were the most successful with two gold trophies each. German winners were 4 blocks in TV series ( TNT series ) and Summer of 44 - Die Freibadclique in Best TV Film ( ARD ) by Zieglerfilm .
In 2019, Chernobyl won in the TV series category and contributed to the fact that the productions from Great Britain were the most successful with four gold medals (two Sky, two BBC ). Broadcast formats from 28 countries were recognized in 15 categories. There were five nominations for German productions.
