Joseph von Bach

Joseph von Bach (born May 4, 1833 in Aislingen , † September 24, 1901 in Munich ) was a German Roman Catholic theologian .

Life

The son of Georg Bach and Josepha geb. Widemann studied theology at the LMU Munich from 1852 to 1856 , where he received Dr. theol. has been. After his habilitation in dogmatics in 1865 by the theological faculty of the LMU Munich, he became a private lecturer in the philosophy of religion . From 1867 to 1889 he was a university preacher. In 1867 he became an associate professor and in 1872 a full professor for the philosophy of religion and education at the LMU Munich. In 1888 he was relieved of the obligation to teach the philosophical disciplines, especially the history of religion, and in addition to education he was given the teaching position for apologetics and the history of dogma.
