Vera is a song by British rock band Pink Floyd from the 1979 concept album The Wall .

content

As in all other songs from the album The Wall , the song Vera tells part of the story of the protagonist Pink , who erects an imaginary wall to protect himself from emotional influences.

The title is a reference to the singer Vera Lynn , who became famous during the Second World War for her song We'll Meet Again .

music

Along with Bring the Boys Back Home and Outside the Wall , Vera is one of three songs on The Wall that not only featured the members of Pink Floyd. The New York Symphony Orchestra is there. The most important role is played by the acoustic guitars from Waters and Gilmour. As in Nobody Home , the drums are completely dispensed with.
